About financially independent persons visa in Greece

This is a residence permit for people from outside the EU who have a steady income large enough to live on without working.

Main points

  • The income currently needed is €2,000 a month for the main applicant. If a husband or wife joins the application, it rises by 20%, to €2,400 a month.
  • The permit lasts two years and can be renewed for three years.
  • It does not allow you to work in the country.
  • Family members can apply with you. Each gets their own permit, which ends when yours ends. The income condition can be met by each person or by the family as a whole.
  • If you are entitled to a pension from the Greek social security fund, there is no income condition when renewing.

What the service includes

  • Advice from an immigration lawyer to make sure you have the right documents and information.
  • Filling in the application for you.
  • Arranging payment of the official fee.
  • Going with you to the government office to collect the visa once approved.
  • Going with you to collect your foreigner's ID card.
  • Help renewing the permit after years 1, 3 and 5, charged separately if needed.

What clients say about our service

  • She replied extremely fast to my first inquiry, quickly arranged a meeting to go over the details, and answered all my questions. Reaching her by phone or text was easy, she was punctual, and she was fun and personable to talk to as well, with perfect English. After I had struggled for months to get this done on my own, she sorted everything out for me in record time. Anyone trying to navigate Greek bureaucracy should hire her, and I would recommend her.
