Open and read any European e-invoice

Germany, Belgium, France and Poland now require businesses to receive invoices as structured XML files. Drop such a file here and see an ordinary-looking invoice — seller, buyer, lines, VAT, totals and bank details — with the field names in English, German, French, Dutch or Polish.

XML or PDF — XRechnung, ZUGFeRD, Factur-X, Peppol BIS, EN 16931

Your file stays on your computer: it is read by your browser and never uploaded.

What is an e-invoice?

An e-invoice is not a PDF by e-mail. It is an invoice in a structured format defined by the European standard EN 16931 — an XML file that accounting software reads without anyone typing the figures in again. Each country uses its own flavour: XRechnung and ZUGFeRD in Germany, Factur-X in France, Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 in Belgium and across the Peppol network.

Why can't I just open the file?

Double-click an XML invoice and you see code, not an invoice. A ZUGFeRD or Factur-X PDF looks normal, but the legally relevant data sits in an XML file hidden inside it. This viewer reads that data and lays it out the way an invoice should look: who sells, who buys, what was delivered, at what VAT rate, how much is due and where to pay it.

Your file stays on your computer

The invoice is read entirely by your own browser. There is no upload, no account and nothing is stored on our server — names, bank details and prices stay with you. You can check it: once this page has loaded, opening a file works even with the internet connection switched off.

Questions and answers

Is the e-invoice viewer free?

Yes. Opening an invoice, printing it and saving it as a PDF are free and need no registration.

Are my invoices uploaded or stored?

No. The file is read by your browser on your own computer; it is never sent to our server or anyone else.

Which formats does it open?

XRechnung (UBL and CII, including version 3.0), ZUGFeRD 1.0 and 2.x, Factur-X, Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 invoices and credit notes, and other invoices following EN 16931 — as an XML file or as the PDF with the XML attached. Polish KSeF FA(3) invoices are next.

Is the PDF I save here a valid invoice?

No. It is a readable copy for your records or for a colleague. The original XML file (or the ZUGFeRD / Factur-X PDF you received) remains the invoice — keep that one.

Does the viewer check whether the invoice is correct?

It recalculates the totals — lines, allowances, VAT, amount due — and points out any figure that does not add up. A full check against every EN 16931 business rule is planned for the Pro version.

Is this tax advice?

No. The viewer shows what the file says, and the key dates here are general information as checked on the date shown. For your own obligations ask your tax adviser or accountant.
